*Hot Milk Sponge Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. double acting baking powder
    1/2 c. hot milk
    1 Tbsp. vegetable shortening, melted
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract
Preparation
    Beat eggs; add sugar, beating in thoroughly.
    Sift flour with baking powder and stir into egg mixture.
    Add milk, shortening, salt and extracts.
    Mix quickly and turn into an 8-inch square greased pan.
    Bake in a moderate 350\u00b0 oven for about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and invert pan for 1 hour or until cake is cold. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the top.
