Old Timey Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. sugar per qt.
    1 Tbsp. salt per qt.
    cucumbers
    water
    vinegar
Preparation
    Pack fresh cucumbers in jars.
    To each quart, add sugar and salt.
    Fill each jar 3/4 full of vinegar.
    Finish filling with water.
    Seal.
    Place jars in a cold water bath; bring to a rolling boil.
    Remove from heat; tighten lids.
