Mom'S Caramel Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. flour
    dash of salt
    3 c. sweet milk
    1 tsp. butter
    3 eggs
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 baked pie crust
Preparation
    Place 1 cup sugar in a frying pan and let melt until a brownish syrup forms. Add the 1/2 cup water to syrup and let boil until mixture is melted. Mix the other cup of sugar, flour, salt, milk, slightly beaten egg yolks and melted syrup in double boiler. Cook until mixture is thick. Add butter and vanilla and pour into cooked pie crust. Use egg whites for meringue. This makes a large pie.
