Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 bottle red food coloring (1 oz.)
    1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Beat shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add food coloring, vanilla and eggs. Beat well.
    Sift flour, cocoa and salt together more than once.
    Put vinegar and soda in buttermilk.
    Add flour and milk to creamed mixture, a little at a time.
    Mix well. Pour batter into two greased and floured 9-inch cake pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 or 35 minutes. Watch carefully during the final phase of baking. Cool and ice.
