Braised Beef With Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. salad oil
    1 1/2 lb. beef chuck - cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes
    2 onions thinly sliced
    1 apple peeled, cored and thinly sliced
    2 cans (1 lb. each) tomatoes undrained
    2 tsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    4 medium potatoes peeled and quartered lengthwise
    1 head green cabbage (1 1/2 lb.) - wash and cut into 8 wedges
Preparation
    Heat oil in large skillet.
    Add beef.
    Brown on all sides and remove.
    Add onions to skillet.
    Cook slowly until brown.
    Add browned beef.
    Stir in 1 cup of water.
    Add apple and tomatoes. Sprinkle sugar, salt and pepper.
    Bring to boiling, reduce heat and simmer covered 2 hrs.
    Add potatoes and cabbage to meat mixture; simmer, covered, 20 minutes longer, or until vegetables are tender. Serves 4.
