Chicken Croquettes - cooking recipe

2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 c. minced, cooked chicken
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbsp. milk
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/3 c. soft breadcrumbs
Preparation

Melt butter in heavy saucepan over low heat.
Add 2 tablespoons flour and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add 1/2 cup milk.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sauce is thickened and bubbly.
Stir in salt and pepper.
Remove from heat; stir in chicken.
Cover and chill 1 hour.
