Beef And Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 clove garlic
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 lb. lean beef cubes
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
    1 large green pepper, cut in strips
    1 (12 oz.) jar Heinz Homestyle onion gravy
Preparation
    Saute garlic in shortening.
    Add meat.
    Brown well over high heat, stirring constantly.
    Sprinkle in salt and sugar.
    Add mushrooms.
    Cover; simmer 45 minutes or until meat is tender. Stir in green pepper and gravy.
    Simmer, uncovered, 20 to 25 minutes.
    Serve over rice or noodles.
    Serves 6.
