Virginia Chunk Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

75 cucumbers (4 to 5-inches long)
2 c. salt
powdered alum
vinegar
sugar
pickling spice
celery seed
Preparation

Make brine of a proportion of 2 cups salt to 1 gallon water. Boil and pour over pickles boiling hot.
Let stand one week.
