Kapusta - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium apple
    46 oz. sauerkraut
    12 slices bacon
    1 medium size onion
    1 heaping Tbsp. brown sugar
    6 to 8 Tbsp. bacon grease
Preparation
    Cut bacon into small pieces.
    Fry until crisp.
    Put sauerkraut into frypan.
    Dice apple and onion and add to sauerkraut. Bring to a simmer for 1 hour, adding water as it simmers.
    At this point, add the fried bacon, bacon grease and brown sugar.
    Simmer 1 hour. Always add water right from the start, and as you go along.
    This is important so that the Kapusta won't stick to bottom of pan and burn. Stir occasionally.
