Taffy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. white corn syrup
    3/4 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. glycerin
    3/4 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/4 tsp. root beer extract
Preparation
    Boil the first 5 ingredients together until a hard ball stage (263\u00b0).
    Remove from the fire.
    Add the butter and flavoring and pour into a greased pan.
    When cool enough to handle comfortably, pull the mixture until rather firm.
    Stretch out in a long rope and cut into pieces.
