Ingredients

4 large tart apples (I like McIntosh)
1/2 c. seeded raisins
4 eggs, beaten
1 c. sugar
pinch of salt
3 c. milk
Preparation

Pare and core apples.
Place upright in buttered baking dish. Fill holes in apples with the raisins.
Mix eggs, sugar, salt and milk and pour over apples.
Bake in 325\u00b0 oven until apples are tender and custard looks curdled, about 70 minutes.
Serves 4 to 6.
