Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2/3 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
2/3 c. milk
2/3 c. molasses
2 1/8 c. pastry or cake flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. mace

Preparation

Butter and flour a loaf pan.
Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Cream together until light and fluffy the butter and sugar.
Add eggs, milk and molasses.
Sift flour, soda, cinnamon, allspice, ground cloves and mace.
Mix together well.
Spoon into pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
