Refrigerator Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cucumbers
    1 white onion, diced
    heads of dill
    1 1/2 qt. water
    1 pt. white vinegar
    1/2 c. pickling salt
    1 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Use 1 (5-quart) ice cream pail with cover.
    Wash and quarter cucumbers.
    Add onion.
    Put 4 to 6 heads of dill in bottom of pail. Add cucumbers and onion.
    Top with 4 heads of dill.
    Pour boiling brine over cucumbers.
    Let stand, uncovered, 3 days.
    On the fourth day, cover and refrigerate.
    Will keep up to 1 year.
