French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    4 onions
    4 c. stock or broth
    salt and pepper
    2 slices French bread (for each person)
Preparation
    Melt butter in saucepan; add onions, sliced very thin.
    Cook until golden brown, then add broth or stock and salt and pepper.
