Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    3 Tbsp. oil
    1/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 1/2 lb. round or chuck steak
    2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    dash of hot sauce
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) can onion soup
    1/3 c. water
Preparation
    Saute onions until soft.
    Mix flour, salt and pepper; pound into both sides of steak.
    Brown both sides in oil in pan.
    Add mustard, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, onion soup and water. Cover and simmer 2 1/2 hours until tender when pierced.
    Remove meat to platter; skim fat from broth in pan.
    Thicken broth with flour mixed to a smooth paste with a small amount of water, if desired.
