Corn Bread Or Johnnycake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. corn meal
    1/2 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1 egg
    1 1/4 c. sour milk or buttermilk
    3 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Mix and sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl.
    Combine egg, milk and shortening; add to dry ingredients.
    Stir lightly; pour into greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
