Caramelized Potatoes And Carrots - cooking recipe

2 lb. small new potatoes
1 (16 oz.) bag fresh baby cut carrots
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
Preparation

Peel potatoes, trim carrots and place in large saucepan.
Cover with cold water, stir in salt.
Bring to boiling.
Reduce heat and simmer, covered, until tender; drain.
In 10-inch heavy skillet, heat sugar over medium heat until sugar melts and becomes golden brown, stirring frequently with wooden spoon.
Stir in butter until almost melted.
Stir in cooked vegetables until evenly glazed (3 to 4 minutes).
