Split Pea One-Dish Meal - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 lb. ground beef (about 1 c., lightly packed)
1 c. canned or cooked tomatoes
1/4 c. uncooked rice
1/3 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
pepper to taste
1 c. cooked split peas
Preparation

Put ground beef in a pan.
Cook over medium heat until meat is browned.
Drain off fat.
Add tomatoes, rice, water, salt and pepper.
Cover and boil gently for about 25 minutes, until rice is tender.
Add split peas.
Heat slowly until hot.
Makes 2 servings, about 1 cup each.
