Golden Coconut Peach Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 4 1/2 c. sliced fresh peaches
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. orange juice
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 c. flaked coconut
    1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk
    1 egg
    1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. almond extract
Preparation
    In a medium bowl, combine peaches, sugar, flour, nutmeg, salt and juice.
    Pour into pie shell; dot with butter. Bake at 450\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Meanwhile, combine remaining ingredients.
    Pour over hot filling.
    Reduce heat to 350\u00b0 and bake until the coconut is toasted, about 40 minutes.
    Serve warm or chilled.
    Store in the refrigerator.
    Yield: 8 servings.
