Swedish Pepparkakor - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. syrup
    1 tsp. ground dried orange peel
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cloves
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 cardamom seeds, ground
Preparation
    Bring the first 3 ingredients to the boiling point. When cool, add the remaining ingredients. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Chill and roll thin. Dough may be made the night before baking.
