Spiced Cider(8 Punch Cup Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. (1 qt.) apple cider
    1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    8 whole cloves
    4 whole allspice
    2 (3-inch) sticks cinnamon
    dash of salt
    thin lemon slices
Preparation
    Combine first 6 ingredients in heavy saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
    Simmer for 5 minutes. Cool.
    Cover and refrigerate for several hours, then strain. Serve cold or reheat.
    Garnish each mug with a lemon slice.
