Harvey House Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage
    1 or 2 medium onions
    1 green pepper
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. cooking oil
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Coarsely chop cabbage into large pot with cover.
    Layer on top sliced onions and chopped green pepper.
    Pour sugar over vegetables.
    Do not stir!
    Bring remaining ingredients to a full rolling boil.
    Pour over vegetables and sugar.
    Cover quickly to keep in steam.
    Do not stir for 4 hours.
    Will keep a long time in refrigerator.
    Stays crisp.
