Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. cubed beef
    1/2 c. oil
    3 (10 1/2 oz.) cans beef broth
    3 cloves
    2 peppercorns
    1 bay leaf
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 lb. tiny new potatoes
    8 to 10 carrots, pared and sliced
    8 to 10 tiny onions, halved
    2 tomatoes, chopped
Preparation
    Brown beef cubes in oil; drain off fat.
    Add broth.
    Tie cloves, peppercorns and bay leaf in cheesecloth.
    Place in broth along with minced garlic.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
    Simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Cover and simmer 45 minutes or until tender.
    Remove bag of seasonings.
    Thicken as desired with flour.
    Makes 8 to 10 servings.
