Joan'S Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

1 2/3 c. sifted flour
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. double acting baking powder
1 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. water
1/3 c. chopped nuts
2/3 c. raisins
1 c. thick unsweetened applesauce
1 large egg
Preparation

Mix together the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Add the shortening, water, nuts, raisins and applesauce and beat for 2 minutes.
Add the egg and beat for 2 minutes.
Pour into a greased and floured 9 x13 pan and bake for 50 - 55 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
