Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 c. cake flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. applesauce
1 c. raisins
Preparation

Measure flour, soda, spices and salt; sift together 3 times. Cream shortening with sugar; add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
Stir in applesauce.
Add flour mixture in 3 portions, beat after each addition until blended.
Stir in raisins.
Pour into an 8-inch square pan or bake in greased muffin pan for 25 to 30 minutes.
This cake or muffins have improved flavor after 2 days.
