Barbra'S Shrimp Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 small carrot, sliced
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
    1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    2 Tbsp. chopped celery
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/4 lb. shrimp
    4 1/2 c. chicken broth
    1/2 c. dry white wine
    1/4 c. raw rice
Preparation
    Saute onion, carrot, thyme, bay leaf, parsley and celery in 2 tablespoons butter until browned.
    Shell and devein shrimp.
    Cook covered in 1 cup of broth and wine for 5 minutes.
    Strain.
    Combine remaining broth with sauteed vegetables and bring to a boil.
    Add rice.
    Cook rice until tender.
