Southern Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. white cornmeal
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 tsp. finely ground onion

Preparation

Thoroughly mix all ingredients.
Drop a tablespoon of mixture for each hush puppy into hot deep fat (360\u00b0) or into fat in which fish has been fried.
Fry a few at a time until golden brown. Serve hot.
