Norwegian Gold Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 lb. cream cheese
    6 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla or lemon flavoring
Preparation
    Cream together butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add sugar, beating until light.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition (very important).
    Then beat in flour and vanilla two minutes or until smooth.
    Pour into buttered and floured 9-inch tube pan.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for one hour or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
    Needs no frosting.
    Sprinkle with confectioners sugar as an option.
