Italian Cream Cheese Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    5 eggs, separated
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. chopped pecans
    2 c. Angel Flake coconut
    1 stick margarine
    2 c. sifted plain flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening (Crisco)
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening; add margarine.
    Beat until fluffy. Add yolks one at a time; add vanilla and buttermilk alternately with soda and flour which have been sifted together.
    Add coconut and pecans.
    Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Pour into 3 (9-inch) layer pans, greased.
    Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Ice with Cream Cheese Icing.
