Fir Tip Jelly - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. fir tips (gather early in Spring)
    4 1/2 c. water
    7 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 bottles liquid pectin
    1/4 tsp. green food coloring
Preparation
    Wash fir tips and bring to a boil in water. Then simmer for 1/2 hour.
    Strain juice several times.
    Yields 4 cups.
