Sausage Pinwheels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    2/3 c. milk
    1 lb. hot sausage (room temperature)
Preparation
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
    Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
    Add milk, stirring until well blended.
    Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead lightly 3 or 4 times. Roll dough into an 18 x 12-inch rectangle.
    Spread sausage over dough, leaving 1/2-inch margin on all sides.
    Carefully roll dough lengthwise jellyroll fashion, seal.
    Cover and refrigerate at least an hour.
    Slice 1/4-inch slices; arrange over baking sheet 1-inch apart.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until browned.
    Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
