Raised Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. yeast
    3/4 c. lukewarm milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Let rise to double, then roll out 1/3-inch thick; cut and let rise until very light (30 to 40 minutes).
    Leave uncovered so crust will form.
    Fry in deep hot fat at 375\u00b0.
