Baked Pears - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    pears (as needed for each person)
    1/4 c. brown sugar plus 2 Tbsp. on side
    2 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Wash, pare, halve and core firm pears. Arrange pears, hollow side up, in a shallow dish.
    Combine 1/2 cup boiling water, 1/4 cup brown sugar and lemon juice.
    Pour over pears and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
    Bake, uncovered, until tender, 45 to 60 minutes.
