Poor Man'S Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. shortening
2 boxes raisins
4 c. flour
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Cream the shortening and brown sugar.
Sift dry ingredients. Add with milk.
Stir in raisins.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven until it starts to leave sides of pan.
Makes a large cake.
