Onion Smothered Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 round steak (1 1/2 lb.), cut 3/4 inch thick
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    3 medium onions, sliced
    1 c. water
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 bay leaf
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
Preparation
    Combine flour, salt and pepper; pound into meat.
    Cut steak into serving size pieces.
    Brown meat in hot oil in a deep pan to avoid splatter.
    Top with onion slices.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer covered for 1 hour.
    Remove bay leaf and serve.
    Serves 6.
