Squash Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large yellow or zucchini squash
    4 large onions
    1 bell pepper
    1 red pepper
    1/2 c. salt
    3 1/2 c. sugar
    3 c. apple cider vinegar
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. celery seed
    pinch of turmeric
Preparation
    Shred or grind squash, onions and peppers.
    Mix salt in enough ice water to cover squash, onions and peppers.
    Let soak for 3 hours.
    Rinse off salt water.
    Mix sugar, vinegar, water, celery seed and turmeric and pour over squash.
    Boil for 10 minutes. Pack in hot jars.
