Aunt Blanche'S Breakfast Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 slices bread with crust removed
    2 c. ham, cubed
    8 oz. mild Cheddar cheese
    6 eggs, beaten
    1/4 c. chopped onions
    1 small can mushrooms
    3 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    garlic powder
    McCormick Creole seasoning (Cajun flavor)
    crushed cornflakes (for topping)
Preparation
    Butter 8 slices of bread on one side and place buttered side down in casserole.
    Sprinkle ham, onions, cheese and mushrooms over bread.
    Sprinkle garlic powder and Cajun spice over this and top with remaining bread.
    Mix eggs with milk, salt and dry mustard and pour over bread; cover with foil.
    Place in refrigerator overnight.
    Remove foil and cover with crushed cornflakes.
    Sprinkle melted butter over top and bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Serve hot.
