Hearty Hamburg Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. margarine
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. sliced carrots
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 lb. lean ground beef
2 c. tomato or V-8 juice
1 c. diced potatoes
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
4 c. milk
1/3 c. flour
Preparation

In a large saucepan, melt margarine.
Add onion, carrot and green pepper.
Cook until onion is tender (not brown).
Add beef; cook until meat is crumbly.
Stir in tomato juice.
Add potatoes and seasonings.
Cook over low heat until vegetables are tender (25 to 30 minutes).
Combine flour with 1 cup milk (add milk to flour a little at a time and stir until free of lumps).
Stir into soup mixture.
Add rest of milk and heat; stir frequently.
Do not let boil.
