White Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 oz. butter or margarine
1 1/2 oz. plain flour
1 pt. white stock or water
Preparation

Melt fat over moderate heat.
Stir in flour and cook without browning until it is pale yellow.
Gradually stir in the liquid. To avoid lumps, use a whisk and cold liquid.
Boil after each addition of liquid.
When all liquid is added, cook sauce 10 minutes over low heat before adding seasoning.
