Dutch Lettuce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
    2 small onions, chopped
    1/2 c. diced bacon, cooked
    4 potatoes, boiled
    1/3 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    bacon drippings
Preparation
    Let lettuce leaves stand in cold water for 1 hour or more; drain well.
    Alternate layers of lettuce, bacon, eggs, onions and mashed, boiled potatoes in dish.
