Carrot Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked carrots, shredded
    1 c. uncooked potatoes, shredded
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. raisins
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. shortening, melted
    1 c. flour
Preparation
    Sift flour; measure and sift spices, salt and soda.
    Add raisins.
    Combine carrots, potatoes, shortening and sugar.
    Add dry ingredients and raisins; mix thoroughly.
    Fill well oiled 1-pound coffee cans 2/3 full.
    Steam 2 1/2 hours.
    Makes 6 servings.
