Old-Fashioned Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 1/2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. molasses
1 c. butter
3 eggs
1 Tbsp. soda
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 Tbsp. ginger
fresh dried apple to suit
Preparation

Put flour in large mixing bowl; make large hole in center of flour.
Put in eggs, brown sugar, molasses, butter, vanilla, ginger and soda.
Mix gradually by hand, gently putting in a little flour at a time, until all flour is moistened and in large ball.
Divide into 6 even balls.
Roll each into 8-inch cake size. Put 1 roll between 2 pieces of wax paper.
Bake 25 minutes at 325\u00b0.
Place dried apples between layers.
