Deluxe Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1 lb. raw peanuts
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Combine sugar, corn syrup and water in a Dutch oven; cook over low heat to soft-crack stage (270\u00b0).
    Stir in peanuts; cook to hard-crack stage (300\u00b0).
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in butter, soda, salt and vanilla.
    Pour into 2 warm buttered 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pans and spread to edges of pan.
    Cool and break into pieces. Yield:
    3 pounds.
