Creole String Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. fresh green beans
    salt and pepper
    3 slices bacon *
    6 potatoes
Preparation
    Wash beans.
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Add beans and enough water to keep from burning.
    Cover; cook slowly (stir occasionally) until tender.
    Season to taste.
    Peel potatoes; place on top of beans.
    Steam until tender.
    If you desire, place a slice or two of onion on top.
    Makes 6 servings.
