Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. Karo light syrup
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. water
1 tsp. butter or vanilla flavoring
2 c. raw Virginia peanuts (can also use regular peanuts)
1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Combine sugar, syrup and water in a large pan.
Cook over high heat, stirring until syrup tests to 230\u00b0.
Add peanuts and salt, stirring down when boils up.
Cook to 290\u00b0.
Remove from fire and add soda mixed with 1 teaspoon water, butter and flavoring.
Stir thoroughly.
Pour on marbled slab or buttered cookie sheet, pulling to thin out (wear gloves).
Cool before breaking.
