Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 or 5 green tomatoes
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 c. meal
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
Preparation
    Wash and dry tomatoes.
    Cut in 1/4-inch slices and coat in mixture of flour, meal, salt and pepper.
    Heat shortening in skillet to moderately hot temperature.
    Fry, turning slices until golden brown.
