West Virginia Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can tomato juice
    1 small head cabbage, cut up
    1 or 2 cans corned beef, cut up
    1 large can mixed vegetables
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 (16 oz.) tomato paste
Preparation
    Mix together in large pot.
    Add 1 tablespoon shortening (Crisco in can).
    Cook until cabbage is tender.
    Serve with crackers or corn bread.
