Peppernuts(German Cookie) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. buttermilk
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisins
1 c. coconut
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. allspice
2 2/3 c. flour
Preparation

Cream sugar and butter until fluffy.
Add eggs, fruit and nuts and stir.
Add soda dissolved in buttermilk.
Sift dry ingredients and blend into batter.
(This is stiff so you'll have to mix with hands.)
Chill until real stiff.
Rol lout into small logs about the size of your finger.
Chill again, then cut and place on sheet, cut side up and bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool and store in airtight container.
