Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. hot water (from tap)
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. Karo light corn syrup
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. raw Spanish peanuts
Preparation
    Combine sugar, water and syrup in a pan.
    Stir until clear on medium to medium-high heat.
    When clear, boil until it spins a thread when dropped from the spoon, approximately 45 minutes. (Cook to 230\u00b0 or until it threads.)
    Add peanuts.
    Boil until peanuts turn brown, 8 to 9 minutes.
    Quickly stir in soda and vanilla.
    Pour onto clean, ungreased cookie sheet and spread.
