Southern Cracker Fried Chicken - cooking recipe

1/3 c. buttermilk
30 saltines or Ritz style crackers, crushed in food processor or by hand
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 Tbsp. sage
1/2 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. pepper
3 lb. lard or vegetable oil
Preparation

Place buttermilk in shallow dish; combine crackers, garlic, sage, salt and pepper in plastic bag.
Shake.
Mix thoroughly. Dip chicken pieces in buttermilk.
Place one or two pieces at a time in a bag.
Shake to coat.
